Jason Mordhorst is a consummate professional who has been working in the construction industry since 1997. Jason began his career at Hazard Construction in July 2002 as an Estimator/Project Manager. He quickly proved himself to be a strong team leader advancing to Vice President of Estimating/Project Management in 2007 and ultimately President in 2014.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo. He also has a dual master’s degree in Business Administration and Engineering Management from Cal Poly, graduating top of his class as valedictorian. Go Mustangs! Jason is a licensed Civil Engineer, as well as a Certified Qualified SWPPP Developer.
Jason serves on the board of directors for the Association of General Contractors San Diego Chapter (AGC-San Diego) and is the chair/trustee of the EGCA Foundation, AGC San Diego Apprenticeship Trust and AGC San Diego Vacation and Sick Pay Trust. He is an active member of the Building Industry Association (BIA) and the California Asphalt Pavement Association (CalAPA).
Beyond Hazard and his passion for construction, Jason enjoys watching his children grow into happy, healthy, productive members of our community. Jason is a Nebraska Cornhusker Football fanatic and, a humble fan of golf (both watching and playing). When not working, he can be found traveling with family around the world and walking with his wife of 23 years (College Sweethearts) and their dog on the beach.
